Dhuusamareeb ( _so. "Dhuusamareeb"), Dhusa Mareb, Dusta Mareb, is the capital town of Galguduud region, a former Italian commissariat Mudugh, Somalia.

Dhuusamarreeb, located coord|5|32|15|N|46|23|15|E, is an administrative center with a permanent population of 9000. The town has been in control of Islamic courts since early 2006. Its name, which might, in translation, upset those from a less robust culture than the Somali, derived from the effect of drinking the local water.

In July 2006 two persons were killed when a local militia loyal to the Union of Islamic courts, after failing to disperse demonstrators by firing shots into the air, reportedly aimed at the people. The crowd had come to watch a film of the Germany-Italy World Cup semi-final and were protesting at the closure of the cinema. The imposition of Islamic law in the area had made the film illegal as there was advertising for alcohol during the games .

On 1st of May 2008 the home of Aden Hashi Ayro, al-Shabab's military commander was bombed killing Ayro as well as up to fourteen other people, including a militant with senior ranking. Local broadcaster Shabelle reported that the air strike, resulting in two huge blasts, was carried out by four U.S. AC-130 gunships.
