Treaty Ports

Treaty Ports

The retention of Treaty Ports by the UK has been a provision of several historical treaties:
*Treaty of Nanjing of 1842. China cedes Hong Kong to the UK.
*Anglo-Irish Treaty of 1921. Ireland cedes three ports to the UK, see Treaty Ports (Ireland).
*See also the UK sovereign bases on Cyprus.
