Lee Stempniak (born February 4 1983 in West Seneca, New York) is a professional ice hockey player currently playing for the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League. Stempniak graduated from St. Francis High School in Athol Springs, New York in 2001, and then played his college hockey at Dartmouth College.

Early life

Lee grew up in West Seneca and lived near an ice hockey rink where he knew the owner who let him practice whenever he could. After High School, Lee wanted to continue to play hockey but his parents wanted him to go to college so Lee went to the only college that showed interest in him, Dartmouth. At Dartmouth he majored in economics and became a top player for the ice hockey team being a two time All American and team captain.cite web | url=http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app/?service=page&page=NewsPage&articleid=287300 | title= Central: Stempniak a smart addition to Blues' attack | publisher = nhl.com | accessdate=2007-07-10 ]
