Ranchview High School

Ranchview High School is a secondary school located in Irving, Texas, United States. The school mascot is the Wolves, and the school colors are navy, teal, and silver.

Overview

Ranchview High School is a part of Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District, although it is located in Valley Ranch within the city limits of Irving. Ranchview has a 54 acre site which is located between Valley Ranch Parkway South, Valley Ranch Parkway East and Ranchview Drive. Ranchview opened in 2002 starting with 8th and 9th grades only, although high schools in CFB-ISD do not traditionally include 8th grade. The following year, the 8th grade class became the freshman class (the 8th grade class was eliminated from the school), and the school continued with the 9th and 10th grades. The school added a grade each year there after until reaching full high school status (9-12th grades) in the 2005-2006 school year.

Technology

Ranchview was built with the highest technological advances available in the school district. The school was built with "spine labs" which are computer labs each of which are connect to four classrooms, giving each class room access to its fully equipped computer lab. The student to computer ratio at full capacity in the school will be 2:1. Each classroom also contains an A/V equipment cart, giving teachers a great advantage and a great resource while teaching. Each A/V cart includes a media projector, its own computer, a DVD player, a VCR, various equipment, and an overhead camera to replace traditional overhead projectors.

Expansion

Another phase began in 2007 which added a new classroom wing due to the small size of the school. It also added an auditorium and expanded the cafeteria.
