Mission

Momentum Magazine's mission statement:

Momentum Magazine reflects the lives of people who ride bikes. We provide urban cyclists with the inspiration, information and resources to fully enjoy their riding experience and connect with local and global cycling communities. The magazine is for people who ride bikes focusing on cycling for transportation.[citation needed]

History

Momentum Magazine was originally founded in 2001 by Carmen Mills, Amy Walker and Joelle Paton. The Momentum Society of Canada (a non-profit) published Momentum the Magazine for Self-propelled People for 2.5 years. In 2003 the remaining co-editors Carmen Mills and Amy Walker put the magazine on hiatus until the means could be found to make it a self-sustaining publication. In 2005 the magazine was relaunched in its current form.
