Ali Dehbashi

) is an Persian Iranologist, researcher and writer.

Ali Dehbashi is a member of European Iranologist Society and had many international meetings in its periodical conferences in different universities and scientific centers all over the world.

He is also the chief editor of Bukhara magazine, a periodical magazine on arts and culture published in Persian.

Biography

Ali Dehbashi ( Ali Akbar Jafar Dehbashi), writer and editor in chief of Bokhara magazine, was born in in 1958. He finished junior high school majoring in mathematics in Dr.Khan Ali and Ferdowsi high schools and studied Persian literature and history under supervision of prominent scholars such as Seyed Abolghasem Enjavi Shirazi, Dr.Mehrdad Bahar, Dr.Gholam Hossein Yousefi and Dr.Abdol Hossein Zarinkoob. He was also an active member of the "Kanoon Parvarsh Koodakan & Nujavanan" in Tehran, preparing several wall newspapers which were warmly received and read by enthusiasts. Ali Dehbashi has cooperated with many literary ,cultural and art magazines including Arash, Borj, Cheragh, Donyaye Sokhan Adineh and Art Office .

Publishing career

Since 1990, he as editor in chief of monthly magazine , “ KELK” , a prominent literary , cultural and Iranology publication with considerable number of readers, mostly Iranian university professors and world Iranologists. Ninety four issues of the magazine comprising more than twenty thousand pages were published with contributors including Dr. Shafiee Kadkani, Dr. Abdol Hossein Zarinkoob , Dr.Ahamd Mahdavi Damaghani, Dr.Saeed Hamidian, Dr. Jalal Khaleghi Motlagh, Dr. Ali Ravaghi, Fereidon Moshiri, Dr. Ghamar Aryan, Dr.Ezatollah Fouldvand, etc.

Since September 1999, Ali Dehbashi has been the editor in chief of monthly magazine Bukhara, a literary magazine, publishing 50 issues up to now. Bukhara, same as Kelk, is publishing the various essays on culture, literature as well as Iranology. Ali has also published some Special Issues in Bukhara about great world authors, consisting of Rabidranath Tagore, Günter Grass, Osip Mandelstam, Umberto Eco and Virginia Woolf. Dehbashi has been also the editor in chief of Tavoos Art Quarterly for some period.

Moreover, Dehbashi has been the director of Shahab Publications since several years ago and up to now has managed to publish 45 books concerning culture and literature of Iran as well as world. Meanwhile, Ali Dehbashi has been the editor of Academy of Science Quarterly for 3 years and at the time being he is the selected editor by the Board of Trustees for publishing the works of Seyed Mohammad Ali Jamalzadeh. He has some cooperations with “Research and Criticism of Tehran Book“, a monthly magazine. At the meantime, he has been the editor of Samarkand Quarterly Magazine from April 2003 until October 2005 and for 10 successive issues.
