Alaaddin Sajadi

Alaaddin Sajadi or Alauddin Sajjadi (1907-1984) was a Kurdish writer, poet and academic. He was born in Iraqi Kurdistan. He finished his religious studies and became a cleric in 1938. He began working in the field of journalism in 1939, and became the Editor-in-Chief of the Kurdish journal "Gelawêj" in 1941. In 1948, he published a journal in Kurdish and Arabic named "Nizar". In the period 1958-1974, he taught Kurdish literature and history of Kurdish literature at Baghdad University.
