Eldon Dedini

Eldon Dedini

Eldon Dedini (June 29, 1921January 12, 2006) was an American cartoonist whose work has appeared in Esquire, The New Yorker, Playboy, and elsewhere. He received the National Cartoonists Society Gag Cartoon Award for 1958, 1961, 1964, and 1988 for his work.

Fantagraphics Books published a collection of his work, "An Orgy of Playboy's Dedini", ISBN 1-56097-727-2 in 2006. The book is bundled with a documentary "Dedini: A life of Cartoons" by Anson Musselman. His work is raunchy and humorous, but never pornographic, and is liberally sprinkled with leering satyrs and wide-eyed, amply-endowed young nymphs.

While his hometown was Carmel, California and he was born in King City, California, the nearby town of Salinas, California, hosted an exhibition of his work, "Broccoli & Babes: The Cartoons and Posters of Eldon Dedini", which ran from November 4, 2005 until January 20, 2006 at the Sasoontsi Gallery.
