Cusseta, Georgia . The station serves western Georgia and eastern Alabama.The station signed on for the first time on
May 16 ,1982 as WSWS-TV. WSWS carried cartoons, religious shows, low budget movies, and programming from theFinancial News Network in the early 1980s. It was owned by Warden Broadcastng.The FNN programs were dropped by 1987 and the station continued with its blend of barter cartoons, barter sitcoms, religious shows, and older movies. It later affiliated with
Christian Television Network (CTN). RCH Broadcasting acquired the station in 1988.The station continued with an all barter programming lineup along with Christian programming from CTN. It affiliated with the upsart
UPN network in 1995, however it had also aired programs from TheWB (secondary), and CTN (primary under CTN ownership). It added some programming from Pax TV (secondary) as well. Beginning in September 2006 the station joined The CW as an affiliate when UPN merged with The WB network.Pappas Telecasting bought the station outright in 1996 and upgraded programming somewhat.Channel 66 was WSWS until a call letter change to WLGA was approved by the FCC and went into effect on
June 27 ,2005 . The "WSWS" calls now reside on sister station WSWS-CA, the ABC affiliate inNorth Platte, Nebraska .External links
