Jeff Richards (comedian)

Jeff Richards (born October 21 1975) is an American comedian. He is the first and only person to be a cast member on both "Saturday Night Live" and its rival show on FOX, "MADtv".

Early years

Richards was born in Walnut Creek, California, where he lived until he graduated from Las Lomas High School in 1993. He hosted a morning radio show and created a public access television sketch comedy show in the San Francisco Bay Area. He then attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During college he began stand-up comedy while studying abroad in Italy. After graduation he traveled across the US on motorcycle with his backpack, performing in comedy clubs. In 1997 he settled in Los Angeles where he became a successful comedian in the competitive Hollywood environment.
