Battle of Kabul (1842)

Battle of Kabul (1842)

"for other uses of the term see Battle of Kabul"The Battle of Kabul was fought from August to October, 1842, between British and Afghan forces. The British re-invaded Afghanistan to avenge the earlier defeat at Gandamak. The British won the battle.

The battle was seen as part of the ongoing struggles in Asia between the British and Imperial Russia. There was fear in India that Afghanistan could become a route for a Russian invasion.
