It was purchased as the next generation of commuter trains to replace some of the olderNSB BM69 units. Introduction of this class started in2002 and the sets were initially branded asNSB Puls , though this brand has been phased out.A BM72 train consists of four cars. Like other commuter trains the carriage has five abreast seating. The windows on a BM72 are considerably larger than those on the BM69 trains. All the 36 trains were manufactured by
