Viz Media is the licensor of the series in the United States. The series has not had a release in English.

The series' protagonist is nihongo|Takashi Horimachi|堀町タカシ|Horimachi Takashi, a fifth grader at "Anytown" Elementary School. A transfer student named nihongo|Taro Tanaka|田中太郎|Tanaka Tarō enters Takashi's class. Taro Tanaka turns out to be a space alien. Takashi becomes obsessed with trying to figure out the origins of Taro.
