The Jefferson Theatre is a historic performing arts theatre located on Fannin Street in downtown Beaumont, Texas. Built in 1927, the theatre is featured on the National Register of Historic Places and recognized as a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. As a performing arts theatre, the Jefferson featured concerts and recitals, as well as classic films (which are generally exhibited during an annual summer film series). The theatre recently underwent a comprehensive multi-million dollar renovation.

The theatre is run by the 17-member Board of Directors of the Jefferson Theatre Preservation Society. The current president of the board is Nancy Beaulieu. The day to day management of the theatre has been contracted out to VenueTech Management Group, LLC (which employs the theatre manager and various other staff members).

Trivia

In September 2005, the Vince Vaughn Wild West Comedy Show performance was canceled due to the imminent arrival of Hurricane Rita (which damaged the theatre and prompted a temporary closure for maintenance and repairs). The theatre reopened for business in December 2005.

Performances

Since the renovation, a number of high profile artists have performed at the theatre, including Joan Rivers, The Temptations, and Lyle Lovett.
