Polynesian outlier s of southeast Melanesia. They are related to all of the otherPolynesian languages . The name comes from the islands of Futuna (East and West), which are both included in the family. East Futunan is the only language in the group which is not considered an outlier, but in geographical Polynesia. The languages of the Polynesian outliers in the northern Solomons, Papua New Guinea, and Micronesia are in the Ellicean language group, a sister group to the Futunic languages.Languages
