Pine Level, Florida

Pine Level is a ghost town in DeSoto County, Florida, United States.

In 1866, Manatee County named the site of the new county seat "Pine Level". The county seat was moved to a more central location of its citizens. DeSoto County was created from Manatee County in 1887, and Pine Level remained the county seat of DeSoto County until 1889.

Today, all that remains is the Pine Level Methodist Church, the Indian Mound Cemetery, and the Pine Level Campground Cemetery. The site is marked by a State of Florida bronze marker.
