KFTY is an independent television station in the San Francisco Bay Area. It is based in Santa Rosa, California, and primarily covers neighborhoods in the north Bay Area. It broadcasts its analog signal on UHF channel 50, and its digital signal on UHF channel 32, both from atop Mount St. Helena. The channel can also be seen throughout the Bay Area on Comcast Cable channel 199.

The station airs "Armstrong & Getty" weekday mornings with local Newsbreaks in between from 6-10 AM, as well as "Headlines on the Hour" throughout the day. It also has local news on its website, KFTY.com. The station also airs a local commnunity affairs program called "Your Turn".

On November 16, 2006, Clear Channel announced that it would be selling all of its television stations, including KFTY,cite news|title=Clear Channel agrees to sale|work=The Cincinnati Enquirer|publisher=Gannett Company|url=http://news.cincinnati.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061116/BIZ01/311160018/-1/CINCI|date=2006-11-16|accessdate=2006-11-17] after being bought by private equity firms. On April 20, 2007, Clear Channel entered into an agreement to sell its entire television stations group to Providence Equity Partners's Newport Television.cite press release|title=Clear Channel Agrees to Sell Television Station Group to Providence Equity Partners|publisher=Clear Channel Communications|url=http://www.clearchannel.com/Corporate/PressRelease.aspx?PressReleaseID=1943|date=2007-04-20|accessdate=2007-04-20] However, Providence Equity will not be keeping KFTY or KVOS-TV in Bellingham, Washington; instead, those stations will be resold to LK Station Group.

On January 26, 2007, KFTY cancelled its evening newscasts, saying there was insufficient revenue to support their continued broadcast. Management denied the move was related to Clear Channel's intent to divest the property.cite news|title=TV50 axes most of news operations|work=Santa Rosa Press-Democrat|url=http://www1.pressdemocrat.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20070127/NEWS/701270302&SearchID=73270437725947|date=2007-01-27|accessdate=2007-01-29]
