MirageOS

MirageOS

MirageOS is a graphical shell for the Texas Instruments TI-83 Plus and TI-84 Plus created by Detached Solutions. It allows the user to run assembly programs that were compiled for it, or the Ion shell. Despite the name—OS being a common abbreviation for operating system—it is actually a standard application stored in flash memory, not an entire operating system.

Features

MirageOS provides a customizable GUI interface to facilitate loading assembly programs and TI-BASIC programs. MirageOS also provides an Application Programming Interface (API) for game and utility development. Less commonly used features include limited task switching similar to that in a DOS Shell and password protection.

MirageOS can run assembly programs specifically created for it as well as programs created for another shell called Ion. TI-BASIC programs, with the proper code on the first line, can also be run from MirageOS.
