Glendene is not known for it's shopping, but has two service stations, a few fast food joints, a video store, a couple of odd shops and the Thirsty Rooster Bar. Local secondary schools are Henderson High School, Kelston Boys High School, Kelston Girls High school, Liston College and St Dominic's College.
