Geography
Masina, together with the communes of
Ndjili andKimbanseke , belong to the district ofTshangu 20 km east of central Kinshasa. [ [http://www.reliefweb.int/rw/rwb.nsf/db900sid/CMAS-7A4QUN?OpenDocument&query=Kinshasa Relief Web copy of RDC public works map] ]Most of the municipality is occupied by a
wetland bordering thePool Malebo , which explains the lowpopulation density relative of the municipality. The urban area, stretching along Boulevard Lumumba, however, reaches population densities comparable to those of other municipalities in the heart of Kinshasa (about 50,000 inhabitants per km²).*Mayor
