Beechwood Avenue

Beechwood Avenue

Beechwood Avenue (Ottawa Road #44) is a major east-west road in Ottawa, Canada. It is the main street of the New Edinburgh neighbourhood and also of northern Vanier. The road begins at the Rideau River, a continuation of Lower Town's St. Patrick Street which continues until the Alexandra Bridge towards Gatineau. It runs a short distance to Beechwood Cemetery, where it becomes Hemlock Road which runs east until past the Aviation Parkway near the Ottawa/Rockcliffe Airport. The western part of the road is largely commercial with a number of stores and restaurants. It is also home to the Indian High Commission. The eastern section of the road near the cemetery is more residential.
