Sepahbod Amanullah Jahanbani ( _fa. سپهبد امانﷲ جهانبانى) (1895 – 1974) was a senior general of Reza Shah Pahlavi.

At the age of 10, Jahānbāni was sent to St. Petersburg for schooling, and returned to Iran as a ranked military officer in World War I. During a second trip, after finishing his studies in Europe, he continued climbing in rank and soon became Major General of the Armed Forces. His path of success continued until 1938, when he fell out of favor and was suddenly thrown into prison by Reza Shah Pahlavi.

With Reza Shah's abdication during World War II, his political life saw some luck again and he was appointed to The National Senate during the era of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi where he served during five consecutive periods. He died at the age of 83.

He is the father-in-law of Captain Mohammad Amanpour, the father of CNN journalist Christiane Amanpour. [http://www.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=8410300143]
