John Fitzgerald (computer scientist)

John Fitzgerald (born 1965) is a British computer scientist and Chair of Formal Methods Europe. He is a Reader in the School of Computing Science at Newcastle University, UK where he works as a member of the [http://www.csr.ncl.ac.uk/ Centre for Software Reliability] . His research interests are in the area of dependable computer systems and formal methods, with a background in the VDM. He is a committee member of BCS-FACS.

Education

Fitzgerald was born in BelfastFact|date=May 2008, and was educated at Bangor Grammar School and The University of Manchester. He holds the BSc in Computing and Information Systems and the PhD degrees from the [http://www.cs.man.ac.uk/ Department of Computer Science] at Manchester.
