Robert Duax

Robert Duax

Robert Duax, Sr., was the former basketball coach of St. Ambrose University in the United States and inventor of the full court press, and he went on to serve two terms as mayor of Davenport, Iowa.

His father was Charles Duax, a famed radio personality on Chicago's WLS radio station who performed as Charles White, "The Whistler," adept at producing sounds of bird calls.

The Duax family hailed from France and Ireland in the late 1800s, settling in central Illinois, where they founded the Buzz-Z Honey Company and Duax Honey.
