Kahale Morales

Kahale Morales

Kahale Morales is the Opihi Pickers bass player; he is also one of the founding members of the Opihi Pickers.

While in his early teens, Kahale developed an interest in music and began playing the ukulele. He spent his time jamming with his cousins, Imua and Hoku, until eventually the Opihi Pickers were born.

Kahale also played percussion for his school band while attending high school.

In 1996, Kahale won a ukulele contest sponsored by KCCN FM-100, winning not only in his age category, but also with the highest overall score.

Now an accomplished bass player, Kahale plays an important role in the band keeping the bottom end thumping and filling out the groups trademark vocal harmonies.
