Jimmy Tingle

Jimmy Tingle (born April 9, 1955 in Cambridge, Massachusetts) is an American comic and occasional actor.

In the 1990s, Tingle was often featured on the NPR radio show "Heat" with John Hockenberry. He was a commentator on CBS News during the 1980s [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoTGThYfAVA] , as well as the CBS News program "60 Minutes II" later for two years, serving a role similar to Andy Rooney on the Sunday edition of "60 Minutes". Eventually, CBS fired Tingle, and replaced him with Charles Grodin.

Dabbling occasionally in acting, Tingle has appeared in local Boston films "The Boondock Saints" and "Next Stop Wonderland".

Tingle spent his time operating his stand-up club/theatre in Somerville, Massachusetts named "Jimmy Tingle's Off-Broadway Theater", often hosting the shows. In 2007, Tingle closed the theater to focus on other ventures.
