Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering, Pune (PCCOE) is an engineering college in Pune, India. Established in 1984 as Polytechnique giant in PCMC areas turned in for Engineering degree in 1999.

It is the first college considered of for developments in PCNTDA plannings. PCCOE is located near Ganesh Lake in Pimpri Chinchwad New Town Development Authority(PCNTDA).

It is only the second college in Pune University to have started working in two shifts. Apart from the regular 1800, Mechanical and Electronics and Tele Communication Departments have 60 students each in the second shift.

Activities

PCCOE is recently being known for its perfect conduct of Mega Campus Drives under Major Company Brands. NSS activities are one of most recognised social activities by an Engineering institute. Students also show active participation in cultural activities like Purushottam Karandak & Firodiya Karandak. Innovation Centre to boost the innovative thoughts of the students is also initiated with a full functional 24 hr working facility.

Technical Events

Techligent and Spectrum are the mega events conducted by the college.Out of which Spectrum is The Only Event conducted in UoP for First Year Engineering Students.Techlligent consists of a National Level even where in Paper Presentations, Robotics and several other sub events are conducted.

Placements

Under T&P cell many major companies like Accenture, IBM, Tech Mahindra, Herbinger, Demag Cranes, Persistent and TCS have conducted their mega campus recruitument drives here. With about 64% students being placed.[citation needed]

Departments

Along with first year department, PCCOE has outstanding infrastructure in terms of engineering devices and systems. Mechanical department has Kaplan,Francis and Pelton wheel. A dedicated computer centre and huge library having more than 2000 reference volumes and total expenditure around 6 million rupees.


Teaching Staff

The college mostly has well qualified teaching staff, working under the guidance of departmental heads. The lectures are supposed to be conducted in english but due to lack of fluency in language they tend to be a mixture of English with local languages.

Ranking

As per the WikiAnwers, and Indian Institute Of Engineers, visiting UoP, it was ranked 9th in academic year 2007-08.But as per new reports on Wikipedia it is supposed to have ranked 6th in 2008-09 under affiliation of UoP. It is outranked on National Level![citation needed]
