The Oslo City Culture Award is awarded to a person, group or cultural activities for making a long time contribution or having an outstanding achievement in arts, science or other cultural work in the city or the country's cultural life. A bronze medal is awarded with the prize. The prize also includes a monetary amount. Oslo City Culture Award is distributed at the same time as the Oslo City Artist Award by the city's mayor at the City Hall in April and May year after the year award terms.[1] Oslo City Culture Award has been distributed since 1966 with the exception of 1991 when the award was not given because of lack of funding.
