Orpheus is an Australian Melodic Death Metal band which formed in early 2008. The band began as a side project for friends Chris Themelco and Joao Goncalves hoping to recreate and expand on the Gothenburg sound, but to also incorporate the bands love for even heavier and more aggressive styles of music. In just a few short years, Orpheus have quickly established themselves as a rising star of the Australian metal scene. After releasing their E.P, ‘So It Begins’ in 2009, their unique take on the Melodic Death Metal genre and immersive live shows have seen the band gain much momentum, with their music spreading across our shores and beyond, signing to Rockstar records. Following this released Orpheus their long awaited debut album, ‘Bleed The Way’ in February 2011 through Rock Star Records.
