Novo Basquete Brasil de 2010–11

Novo Basquete Brasil de 2010–11

The Novo Basquete Brasil is a competition in Brazil for basketball organized by the Liga Nacional de Basquete. It is the third edition of the championship organized by the LNB, with the seal of the Brazilian Basketball Confederation. This tournament is organized entirely by the participating clubs. NBB serves as the qualifying competition for international tournaments such as the FIBA Liga das Américas and the Liga Sul-Americana de Basquete.

The form of dispute follows a similar model adopted by the NBA and the countries of Europe. The competition will start on October 29 of 2010 being played with 15 participating teams playing each other in turn and in the qualifying round replays. At the end of two rounds the top four teams qualify automatically for the second phase, since the team who finish in the 5th and 12th place playoff qualifiers will participate to define the other four teams in the second phase, the knock-out final best of five matches, advancing to the next round, whoever wins three games.
