Nirmala Sitaraman (Hindi: निर्मला सीतारामन, Tamil: நிர்மலா சீதாராமன் ) is an Indian Politician presently serving as a National Spokesperson for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).^[1]

Early life and career

Nirmala Sitaraman graduated from Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, Tiruchirapalli, TamilNadu in 1980.^[2] . Nirmala Sitaraman's M. Phil was in International Studies from JNU.

Nirmala Sitaraman worked with Pricewaterhouse Coopers as a Senior Manager (research and analysis). she was with BBC World Service for sometime.

Nirmala Sitaraman is one of the Founder Director of prestigious Pranava-The school in Hyderabad.^[3]

Former Member of the National Commission for Women

Nirmala Sitaraman was a member of the National Commission for Women from 2003-2005 .

Spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party

She works in a team of six spokespersons headed by Indian Supreme Court Lawyer Shri Ravi Shankar Prasad, the chief spokesperson of BJP.

Nirmala Sitaraman is married to Dr.Parakala Prabhakar, a JNU and LSE alumni. He is a Politician, Political Commentator,popular television anchor and an intellectual.^[5] Presently Dr.Parakala Prabhakar is MD of RightFOLIO.^[6]
