Hassan Ali Mirza Khan

Sayyid Hassan Ali Mirza Khan Bahadur, GCIE (25 August 1846 – 25 December 1906) was the first Nawab of Murshidabad and the eldest son of Mansur Ali Khan, the last Nawab of Bengal. Educated at La Martiniere College in Lucknow and in England, he was appointed heir to his father's titles in 1873. He succeeded as the head of the family upon his father's abdication seven years later, when the title of Nawab of Bengal was abolished. On 17 February 1882, however, Hassan Ali Mirza Khan was appointed to the lesser title of Nawab of Murshidabad and was confirmed in this title by the British in 1891.

At his death in 1906, he was succeeded by his son, Nawab Sayyid Wasif Ali Mirza Khan.^[1]
