Mátra Power Plant is a lignite fired power plant in the valley of the Mátra mountains, Hungary.[1] It has a total capacity of 950 MW, with expansion opportunities. In the previous years, there were several attempts to exploit the vast lignite reserves, and there were rumours that an additional block will be built, but in late 2010, the project was cancelled.[2]
