Plot

Elliot is faced with J.D.'s absence at the hospital, as he's taking a short break; however, she accidentally presses 'Loud Speaker' and then can't take it off, so for most of the episode she's on loudspeaker.

Carla announces she's two weeks pregnant and Turk learns that nobody makes a fuss about a couple's second baby. Turk later convinces Gooch, Ted's new girlfriend, that it's his first so she will write a song for him. When Gooch finds out he lied to her, however, she wreaks her own brand of vengeance on him.

Meanwhile, Dr. Cox and Carla clash when she fails to come through for a comatose patient, accusing her of not caring for her patients anymore.

Trivia

  • J.D. and Janitor do not appear in this episode, although J.D. is heard over Elliot's cell phone several times throughout the episode.
  • Dr. Cox reveals his middle name to be Ulysses.
  • Unlike most Scrubs episodes, this one features no cutaways/fantasies and little to no narration.

Music

  • "Last Salutation" by Randy Coleman
