Mount Joern

Mount Joern (72°35′S 160°24′E / 72.583°S 160.4°E / -72.583; 160.4) is a ridgelike mountain (2,510 m) standing 3 nautical miles (6 km) northwest of Mount Bower in the Outback Nunataks. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1959-64. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Albert T. Joern, a researcher in physiopsychology with the winter party at South Pole Station, 1968.
