Mount Gerdel

Mount Gerdel (85°59′S 149°19′W / 85.983°S 149.317°W / -85.983; -149.317) is a mountain, 2,520 m, standing 2 nautical miles (3.7 km) southeast of Mount Andrews at the south side of Albanus Glacier. Mapped by United States Geological Survey (USGS) from ground surveys and U.S. Navy air photos, 1960-63. Named by Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for Lieutenant David H. Gerdel, U.S. Navy, of the Byrd Station winter party, 1965.
