Universal Republic Records
Once acquired by Universal Music Group, Lipman became president of Universal Republic Records label in 2000. Lipman’s A&R driven growth strategy welcomed Universal Records into a leading industry market share during the first year of his tenure. By 2007, the label matured into a multi-genre major with a global reach.
Universal Republic’s current roster of artists includes a host of gold and platinum artists, breakthrough digital successes and superstars including Taylor Swift, Amy Winehouse, Jack Johnson, Florence + The Machine, Colbie Caillat, Jessie J, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, and Hinder.

Within Universal Republic, Lipman has nurtured highly successful co-ventures with such entities as Cash Money Records, Big Machine Records, Brushfire Records, and Tuff Gong by acquiring talent well-versed in the new generation of marketing, promotion and new media.
Throughout his association with Universal, Lipman has helped guide the careers of highly popular and influential artists in contemporary music, including Nelly, Lil Wayne, Elton John, Vanilla Ice, Prince, and others.
