Major General Mohammed Amin Naik, SM (BAR) is an Indian Army General officer. Major General Naik was commissioned in the Indian Army Corps of Engineers in December 1974 and has served in the Indian Army with distinction.

Military career

He has served as design civil engineer and garrison engineer with Eastern Naval Command, Vizag, and remained in Indian Army headquarters as general staff officer.

Sports career

Major General Naik is a champion rower. He has also been awarded the highest medal to an Indian sportsman - Arjuna Award - for his accomplishments in rowing. He won a bronze in 1982 Asian Games (coxless-4) and has gotten 8 gold, one silver, and one bronze in national championships. He has also won two golds, and a silver and bronze apiece in various international championships in rowing.[1]

Early life and Education

He hails from Village Dadasara, Tral, Pulwana district of South Kashmir and was born September 25, 1953.
