Mody Kidon

Mody Kidon is the chairman of the Israel Advertising Federation and a senior business manager for Gitam Image Promotion Systems,[1] a member of the Gitam/BBDO Group.

Kidon served as a pilot in the Israeli Air Force and attained the rank of major. He has a degree in Economics from Tel Aviv University and an AMP from Harvard University. In 1981, he joined his father, Yochanan Goldberg and cousin Moshe Teumim at Gitam Image Promotion Systems. In 1986, he was appointed joint president of Gitam Image Promotion Systems.

In1990, he was appointed chairman of the Israeli Advertising Federation. His period in the chair was hectic and full of struggles to create free competition conditions in the media marketplace with the advent of commercial television. The founder of competitive commercial advertising, Kidon also served as chairman of the scientific committee that established the Israel television ratings system.

In 1994, Gitam Image Promotion Systems became the first Israeli advertising company to be acquired by an international advertising company – BBDO. The company is currently a private holdings company, active in the field of advertising, real estate and technology. In 1995, Gitam Image Promotion Systems formed a partnership with Ehud Samsonov, Amos Shamia (S.G.S.), Gad and Dan Propper (owners of Osem) and the Hammama family, who together formed the real estate Vitniya. In 2007 Delek Real Estate invested in the company and became a partner of the founders. In 2010, Dr. Yael Almog joined Gitam Image Promotion Systems as a partner and she holds some 25% of the shares in the company, which she purchased for NIS 100 million.

In 2004, Kidon was succeeded as managing director of Gitam/BBDO by Michal Hamei'ri and was appointed as the group's senior business manager. Clients of Gitam/BBDO include inter alia: Osem, Office Depot, Bank Hapoalim, Hogla, Tempo, Clal Insurance, Cellcom, Shufersal, Wrigley, Netvision 013. Gitam has won international advertising prizes and the Guinness Prize for the first advert in space for Tnuva milk.

In 2004, Mody Kidon was appointed chairman of the TMF media company.

Under the leadership of Teumim and Kidon the BBDO Group has volunteered its participation in many community projects: War Against Cancer Association and increased awareness about the illness, the Elem – Youth in Distress in Israel, Degel Ha'Orot (lit. Flag of Lights) campaign, and Nitzan, for children with learning difficulties, etc. Some of these projects have received international recognition and prizes. Kidon is also personally involved in the promotion of the Israel Tennis Center. He is a member of the management committee of the Friends of Sheba Hospital, Tel Hashomer and a member of the marketing committee of the National Science Museum in Haifa.

In 2010, Kidon established Alto Investments, which is involved in investment in product-bearing real estate. Kidon is also a partner in the technology companies: Inneractive, NTTM, [Robin Hood], Gixso, [Dial My Name].

Mody Kidon is married to television presenter Sharon Kidon and the father of four children, three daughters and a son.
