Mixi signed with Geffen in 2008 as a result of winning the reality television show Redemption Song. During her time with Geffen, Mixi released one single via iTunes titled "I Miss Those Days (Ghost)". She released her debut album, Read My Lips, under a different label. In September 2010, Mixi released two singles, one under John Holt and the other under herself, on the iTunes Store.
Mixi primarily produces pop, jazz, and rock music.

Biography
Raised by a religious family in the suburbs of Orlando, Florida, Mixi made up her mind to move to Los Angeles, California, her boyfriend at the time followed her. Once in Los Angeles, Mixi and her boyfriend split. She found herself homeless, struggling to survive as an artist. She stayed on the West Coast and joined the band Anti Product.Later fronting an all-female punk/rock group called Dragstrip Kitty,Alecia appeared on an episode of the TruTV networks "Speeders". An advertisement on the Internet brought her to Fuse TV's brand new 2008 reality television series Redemption Song.[2] Hoping her smooth, jazzy voice might be her ticket to stardom, Mixi never gave up on her dreams of making it in the music industry.[3] Now that she has scored a recording contract with Geffen Records, the hard work, pressure and daily demands will only intensify. But, Mixi believes that she is as ready as she will ever be to record her debut album, and, true to her risk-taking nature, is going for something wildly out there. "In my first meeting with Ron Fair after the show, I told him I wanted to do a big band thing with a hip hop beat, and it didn't seem like he was getting it," she says. "So I thought, 'I need to show him what I hear in my mind,' and I put a song together."[4]
Redemption Song
Further information: Redemption Song (TV series)Mixi was one of the contestants featured on the American reality television show Redemption Song, which aired on Fuse TV. The show was a competition between eleven female contestants vying for a chance to become a rockstar. Despite the fact that Mixi did not stand out in the early rounds of the competition, she was able to make the final two. During the finale, Mixi beat her fellow finalist Angelica and won in the final performance. As a result, she won Redemption Song and won the recording contract with Geffen Records. She was known throughout the show for her unique style, appearance and personality.
