Mike Campbell (basketball)

Michael A. Campbell (born in Bayonne, New Jersey) is a Guinness World Record in most basketball free throws made in 60 minutes. In 2005, he became the first person to set this world record by making 1,076 baskets out of 1,266 attempts. In 2007, he broke his own record by making 1,197 shots out of 1,347 attempts in 60 minutes, averaging approximately one shot every 3.3 seconds.[1]

He set this record during Hoop-a-thon at the Rutgers University Louis Brown Athletic Center in Piscataway Township, New Jersey in order to support the New Jersey Chapter of the Huntington's Disease Society of America. Whereas some volunteers at the event collects donations on a "per basket" basis, he collected flat donations because he's a "high-roller" according to the Rutgers University alumni eNewsLetter. [2]

Campbell attended Bayonne High School, but never played on the school's basketball team.[1]
