Metinvest

Metinvest is an international vertically integrated mining and steel company. It was established on 6th June 2006.[1][2] In 2007 Metinvest Ukraine LLC and Metinvest Service Metal Centres LLC were established to function as subsidiaries engaged in production and supply of steelmaking raw materials and steel products to steelmaking companies in Ukraine and Europe.[3]

Management

The shareholders of Metinvest Group are SCM Group (75%), Smart Group (25%) and Clarandale Limited (5%).[2] SCM Group is controlled by a Ukrainian businessman Rinat Akhmetov who owns 100% of the company shares. Starting from 2006 Igor Syry has been Metinvest’s General Director and Chief Executive Officer, Chairman of Executive Committee.[4]

Metinvest is managing managing each link of the production chain – iron ore and coal mining and coke production through to semi-finished and finished steel production; including the manufacturing of plate and coil, pipe rolling, shapes and bars and other value-added products.[6] Metinvest employs over 80,000 people.[2]
