Mauricio Rodríguez (born, 1976, Mexico DF), is a Mexican composer.
He studied with Julio Estrada at UNAM National School of Music (1995-2000). Then he followed courses in Spain, France and Switzerland, with teachers such as Beat Furrer, Toshio Hosokawa and Mauricio Sotelo. He obtained master degrees in composition and sonology at the Royal Conservatoire, The Hague (2001–2005), where he studied with Clarence Barlow, Konrad Bohemer and Paul Berg.
During 2005-2006 he completed the one-year course at the Centre de Creation Musicale "Iannis Xenakis", Paris. Currently he is pursuing the doctor degree in the Musical Arts Program in Composition at Stanford University, with Brian Ferneyhough as main advisor.
His musical writing is influenced by graphical representation, by multiparametric conception of sound and musical structure, by algorithmic processes, and by experimentation as a fundamental method of construction.
