Mark Wade is a rugby league footballer currently playing for the Newcastle Knights of the National Rugby League. He primarily plays at second-row but can play centre too.

Playing career

Born in Dubbo, New South Wales, Wade played for Merewether Carlton of the Newcastle and Hunter Rugby Union in 2011. After the conclusion of the season, Wade was named the competition's player of the year, winning the Anderson Medal and also helping Merewether Carlton to an undefeated season in 2011.[1]

On the 19th of October 2011, it was revealed that the form of Wade in 2011 had gained the attention of three National Rugby League clubs, the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles, the Canberra Raiders and the Newcastle Knights.[2] His preference was to stay in Newcastle because he was in the second year of a double degree in surveying and engineering at the University of Newcastle.

On the 2nd of November 2011 he signed a 1-year contract with the Newcastle Knights.[3]
