Mameve Medwed

Mameve Medwed is an American novelist. Born in Bangor, Maine, she now lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts.[1] Her books include How Elizabeth Barrett Browning Saved My Life, Host Family, and Of Men and Their Mothers.

At Bangor's Garland Street Junior High, she wrote a gossip column for the school newspaper. She later attended Simmons College.[2] Her first novel, Mail, was an expanded version of a short story she sold for $100. Warner Books eventually bought it, and a second novel, for $220,000.[3]
