Maguindanao Network

Maguindanao Network is a Maguindanaon and Iranon (native languages in the region) online news site, has managed by a youth group in Southern Mindanao. It is aimed to highlight the current situation in Moroland throughout its people inside the country and abroad.

The Maguindanao Network was launched on November 11, 2009. Its base is located at the heart of Maguindanao province.

Maguindanao was a Central Mindanao province later divided into 5 provinces since Marcos regime until current: Maguindanao, North Cotabato, South Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat and Saranggani.

Historically, Maguindanao was a sultanate who governing itself and lead the Moro's resistance since Spanish Occupation in 16th century until the American Colonization in early 20th century. Several Moro's heroes arouse throughout its resistance era including Sultan Kudarat who fought fiercely against Spanish soldiers.

At the present, Moro's situation is a quietly incomprehensible amid of an in and out negotiation between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) after the failure of 1996 Final Peace Agreement signed in Jakarta, Indonesia between GRP and the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) to resolve the current problem and pursue the long lasting peace.
