Musical career

Sky Eats Airplane (2007–2009)

After answering a national casting call to join the fledgling metalcore band, Sky Eats Airplane, Roush was announced as the permanent vocalist. He was in the band from 2007 to 2009, and was featured on their debut self-titled album. After being in the band for two years, co-founder of Sky Eats Airplane, Lee Duck, announced that Jerry would be leaving the band. Duck stated that the "creative differences..." between Jerry Roush and Sky Eats Airplane were "the best option for everyone." [1]

Of Mice & Men, American Me, and Glass Cloud (2010–2011)

When Austin Carlile, lead singer of Of Mice & Men, was forced to refrain from touring due to heart surgery, the band asked Roush to fill in for The Emptiness Tour with Alesana, A Skylit Drive, The Word Alive, and We Came as Romans. Once the band and Carlile parted ways due to his inability to "meet the demands of touring full time." Roush was announced as the permanent lead vocalist within the same post.[2] Roush was featured on the bands' cover of "Blame It", originally performed by Jamie Foxx and T-Pain, which was released on the Fearless Records compilation album Punk Goes Pop 3.

On January 3, 2011, Alternative Press announced that Austin Carlile and collaborator Alan Ashby would both be joining Of Mice & Men, with Carlile replacing Jerry Roush.[3]

Roush became the subject of hatred for many Of Mice & Men fans after insulting then-former vocalist Austin Carlile during a performance of the band's song "Second and Sebring" (a song written about Austin's mom passing away) at a show on the 2010 Vans Warped Tour in Kansas City, Kansas.[4]

On February 9, 2011, it was announced on Roush's Twitter that he would be filling in on vocals for the band American Me on their tour in Japan.

Roush also posted on his FormSpring that Glass Cloud will enter the studio in November 2011 and the full-length will be coming out around March 2012.
