Gorenji Mokronog is a dispersed settlement in the Mokronog-Trebelno municipality in southeastern Slovenia. It lies in the hills to the south of Mokronog in the historical region of Lower Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Southeast Slovenia statistical region.[2]

The local church in the settlement is dedicated to Saint Peter. Until 1803 it was the parish church, but the parish was then moved to Trebelno. It is a medieval building with numerous later alterations.[3]
