Doon Express

DOON EXPRESS is an important long distance mail/express type train of Indian Railways connecting city of Kolkata with the state of Uttarakhand. It covers a distance of 1557 Kilometers at an average speed of 52 Kmph. This train is equally important among pilgrims going to Haridwar, Uttarkashi etc. and tourists who are going to visit Garhwal portion of Uttarakhand state. It has Sleeper,AC three tier,Ac 2 tier and General class of coaches.All the classes except General class requires advanced reservations depending upon availability, Tatkal scheme is also available.No Pantry car service is available in it. This train is hauled by WAP 4 class locomotives from Howrah to Mughalsarai and then from Mughalsarai it is hauled by WDM 3A class diesel loco of Indian Railways up to Dehradun. Important stations in which it halts are Burdwan, Asansol, Dhanbad, Gaya, Mughalsarai, Varanasi, Lucknow, Moradabad, Haridwar, Dehradun.13009 Doon express leaves Howrah terminus daily at 20:35 and reaches Dehradun second day morning at 7:10.13010 Doon express leaves Dehradun daily at 20:25 and reaches Howrah terminus second day at 6:55. It is one of the oldest trains running more than 50 years in Indian railways.
