Version 1.1 was released on June 27, 2010. Doodle God's gameplay is inspired by russian online javascript game 'Alchemygame'[6] based on old DOS game named 'Alchemy'.

Gameplay

Acting as the Doodle God, the player must combine available elements together to gain access to new elements. Combinations can be both physical (such as combining Water and Lava to obtain Steam and Stone) and metaphorical (such as combining Water and Fire to obtain Alcohol). The game begins with only the four classical elements, and centers on the discovery of 115 elements across 14 categories. Should the player be stuck, a hint is available every few minutes.

In the June 27, 2010 version for the iphone or other phones, the game contains 140 elements and 15 categories.

In the August 2010 update (which is Doodle God 2), the game contains 196 elements and 21 categories. This third chapter removes some of the elements and categories created in the previous two chapters. Those elements are still being counted in the 196.

The fourth episode, released in October 2010 (If you play doodle god 2 on a phone), takes the total number of elements to 248 and categories to 26 by introducing the element 'magic'. All of the combinations are of a fantasy theme, based around Lord of the Rings, Dungeons and Dragons and World of Warcraft.

The user interface is designed with touchscreen users in mind: elements are selected by tapping the screen, and combined by dragging an element on top of another.

Once the game is beaten a screen comes up saying for future updates stating more elements and combining three elements at once.[citation needed]
